2009; Summed Up (;

If we absolutely had to blog all of the trends that were started in 2009 (and trust us, we do) Here's what we'd come up with.

High-Waisted Skirts  

High waisted skirts really are a highlight of this year. It's good for going out with your friends, or for an important event. It is timeless and goes with any occasion.

Chiffon Tops

Chiffon tops are admired for their soft, stretchy material and their versatility. You can wear them to any event.

Skinny Belts

They're adorable, and they can spice up a plain shirt or dress. No matter what size you are, you've got to have a skinny belt. They're usually worn around the lower waist.

Wide Belts

These are commonly used to hold up high waisted skirts, or to just show off how teeny tiny your waist is. They're usually worn waay up high on waist, right under chest.

Cardigans 

Long short or flowy, cardigans made a HUGE comeback this year. Whether you're trying to cover up that tank top, spaghetti strap or halter during school, or playing with proportion, cardigans are alway helpful.

Liquid Tights

Liquid Tights were very worn out this year. People played with contrast by piling clothes of cuddly textures over their liquid leggings. This fashion blogger hopes this trend does not pass on to 2010.

Tall Boots

Tall boots can really be paired up with anything. They look good with skirts, shorts, dresses, pants. These were literally everywhere, because they were being produced at stores like Target and Nordstroms.

Mustard Satchels

No, they're not purses. Because of their size they're actually satchels. Mustard was a color that was really ignored besides the use of it in, hotdogs and whatnot. Now it's everywhere, sweaters, shirts, satchels.

Bracelet Piles

Stores like Forever 21 and H&M decide to sell bracelets in packages of 3-10. People decide to pile bracelets way up high on their arms, starting something new that makes you look really good, especially when the bracelets are custom made or woven.

Mickey Mouse + Hello Kitty Tees

It's an attack of mice and kitties! Characters like Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, and domo are being plastered all over the stomachs of people everywhere! Hmm .  . I wonder which character wins ?

Hippie-Style Headbands

People everywhere are wearing their headbands across their foreheads. It's a bold statement, and it leaves wicked marks on your forehead.

Patterned Tights

Patterned Tights definitely came back this year. Under a dress or under shorts, or under a very long shirt.

Choppy Layers, Volumed Hair

Half of the teenaged girl population got the choppy layers `do. They also got hair inserts like bumpits, or products to volumize their hair, to make their hair huuuge.

Killer Nina Ricci Heels *_*

I don't know if anybody can afford (coughactuallywalkinthesecough) these shoes, but I've definitely seen them everywhere on the runway and . . Lady Gaga music videos. (:

Peacoats

Especially during the winter-- these are very useful and gorgeous. And warm. Oh, so warm. Honestly, I don't think anybody my age can pull these off without being made fun of, but I do so adore them.

Buffalo Plaid

I think it's safe to say this trend has come & gone, but you never know when its going to come back, stronger than ever. However, during 2009, they made buffalo plaid jackets, shirts, dresses, everything. It got kind of plaid out.

Animal Print

Stealing the spot && Stripes right off the animals, aren't we? I guess its because it looks better on us. Animal print goes everywhere, on our nails, our shirts, our pants, our hair, even.

Floral Print

Apparently humans love to wear animal prints, and plants. Woopty doo for us (: Floral print is really vintage-looking and best worn on skirts and dresses.

Bows

Hahaha, there's the Hello Kitty bow I was obsessing over (; Anywho, bow headbands are adooorable and make a very bold statement. They can make you look either silllyyy or serious.
