Well, I know a lot of f-bloggers and readers still go to school, and some of you are already going to back to school from winter breaksies. Its time for the second semester, which means youuu need a new bookbag! Try not to go too cheap when you're shopping for bookbags, because a low quality bag will rip under the weight of your notebooks.
Messenger Bags;

    For those of you that like over-the-shoulder bags, you should get a messenger bag. They're handy, they have pockets everywhere so your pencils and cell phones won't be constantly falling out. One should get a vintage-looking one, try thrifting. If you don't have luck there, try Nordstroms or Urban Outfitters, or any department store.
Jansport Backpacks;

If you want to stick to basics and still be unique, try Jansport backpacks. They have almost all solid colors and hundreds of designs to choose from. The best place to get Jansport backpacks would be Tilly's or Anchor Blue, because they get tons of custom Jansports. Try not to get big sizes; go for small or medium. Nobody wants a fat backpack.

Knitted Bags

If you're that type of student that doesn't carry around much, a knit bag is recommended. Try to go for a solid color, because knitted patterns or images could end up looking really messy or confusing. Having a woven bag is pretty and exotic, but not for those that carry around a lot. These bags especially break under pressure, because they're made out of thread and yarn. You can get one of these at Old Navy, Wal-Mart, or Target.

Canvas Bags;

Canvas bags really make a statement, and are very lightweight. Like the knitted bag, this is not for people that carry around a lot in their backpacks. The fun thing about canvas bags is that you can by a plain one, then just iron on a design if you want. You can get both plain canvas bags and iron on sheets at Joann's Etc. You can also buy iron on sheets that let you print out an image on the sheets and then you can iron it on. Another thing you can do is buy buttons and stick them onto a plain canvas bag (:

Beach Bags;

Even though their name says so, beach bags aren't only for the beach. They're cute, and known for their adorable rope handles. Most come with cuuute beachy prints like the second one, with the turtles and fireflies. You can get beach bags at Hollister, Aeropostale, and Abercrombie.

Hobo Bags;

You know how these bags got their name? Well, you know how in old cartoons when a character is moving out or running away, they have those little bags on a stick? Well, they were tied at the intersection with the stick, and some hobo bags, like the second one, are still tied at the very top. This is another over the shoulder type of bag. The best hobo bags are at Target or Macy's.

Character Bags;

Make a statement and put your favorite childhood characters on your back. If you're going for this look, try to get a unique-looking bag rather than just a backpack with a hologram of your character. That just spells out dorky, you're trying to be unique. When shopping for character bags, try Hot Topic, Sanrio, or The Disney Store.

Vintage Military Backpacks;

If you can afford them, these bags are way adorable, especially when distressed and in florals. They are verrry much like those that our military men wear to hold their grenades and whatnots. I find these bags waaay cute, but you're going to have to dig for `em. I am for sure they have some in stores like Chanel and Gucci, but they look so plastic so don't even bother. Thrifting is a must for these, try stores that are really vintage closet.

& Finally, Plain Old Purses

Leather bags are what most people are wearing to school. Try browns, tans, dark purple, and reds. Look for the bendy distressed type of leather, not the sticky shiny, plastic kind. I myself have one from Christmas. Suggested stores for this type of bag is; Target, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and H&M.

Can't Fit Your Stuff In Some Of These Bags? Here are some tips;

                   

Yay for 70 page one-subject notebooks, nay for 300 page 5 subject notebooks. Most teachers require one notebook per class, so multi-subject notebooks are useless. 70 pages can get you through one semester if you get college ruled notebooks. That just saved you a lot of space. One 300 page notebook is the size of about four 70 page notebooks.

Yay for pocket folders, nay for binders. Most binder space goes unused. Put all your loose leaf notes in pocket folders. They have tiny metal clasps on the inside, that can act as three rings. One binder is the size of five pocket folders.

Yay for cloth pencil cases, nay for clutters of pencil. Random pencils around your bag could poke holes and even leave marks in your bag. put all pencils, pens, and highlighters in a pencil case.

Yay for planners, nay for sticky notes. Sticky notes are much more portable, but face it they get lost and come in very fat, thick little cubes. If you get a planner, you can write all assignments and notes in there, plus if you get one that's weekly, its much more thinner than a daily planner. Or even a monthly planner, if you don't need that much space to write down last minute plans.
